Here is a Yuenglings Ice Cream Menu from the Yuengling’s Dairy located in Pottsville, PA. This Yuenglings Ice Cream Menu Sign is from the 1930’s and is in very good condition for it’s age.
It is approximately 9″ X 20″ and is made of painted metal with a chain hanger; the menu labels are made of cardboard and are interchangeable; the sign was made by the Permanent Sign & Display Company located in Reading, PA.
When prohibition was enacted in 1920, the D. G. Yuengling & Sons Brewery opened the Yuengling’s Dairy across the street from the brewery as a way to get through prohibition. The dairy was in operation all the way up until 1985 when they closed. The original Dairy building is still standing to this day and has been recently renovated and is used by the brewery for their gift shop, museum, and events.
There is a couple different variations of Yuengling Menu signs; click here to view one of them from my personal collection. I am actively looking for anything related to the Yuengling Brewery and the Yuengling Dairy, please contact me if you have anything.
