Here is a Sunshine Sunny 7 Beer Sign from the Sunshine Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. This sign is approximately 7 inches high by 5 feet wide. This sign was meant to advertise the Sunshine Brewing Company’s flagship beer called “Sunny 7s” which was a lager bottled in small 7 oz bottles. I don’t know to much about this sign other then it is very rare. From other collectors I’ve spoke to about it there is only one other in existence. The guy who I bought it from said it was found embedded in a metal roof; it must have been used as a metal patch luckily with the graphics face down. The back of this sign is covered in roof cement probably from being used as a patch. Back in the day they used what they had even if it was a metal sign.
I’m not entirely sure what this sign was used for but if I had to take a guess I would imagine it was some kind of sign that would be displayed on the side of a delivery truck or trolley train. I’ve seen similar signs to this one before that were used as trolley and truck signs except they were more square and larger in dimension.
The condition is a little rough but it’s still legible. I’m very happy to have this sign in my collection.
