Here is a Stewart Warner Neon Display made by the Stewart Warner Sign Company located in Chicago, IL. This Stewart Warner Neon Display is from the 1930s era and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
This style of sign is known as a “Write-It-Urself” neon countertop advertising display. The display measures approximately 24″ across by 19″ tall and is made of glass and cast iron with an edge-lit red neon tube inside. This sign features an ornate Art Deco style cast metal body with two glass panels where a business owners could write advertisements and specials. Signs like this one were popular at the time and were used in general stores, diners, restaurants, malt shops, and taverns to display the days special.
