Here is a Piels On Tap Sign from the Piel Brothers Inc. Brewery located in Brooklyn, NY. This Piels On Tap Sign is from the 1930’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age. This Piels Beer Sign has yet to be rewired and restored to it’s former glory; will definitely be a project so please check back soon to see the final display.
It is approximately 36″ wide and is made of two pieces of reverse-painted glass mounted in a metal backlit body with 8 light bulb sockets inside. Signs like this one would have hung outside of a tavern or hotel to advertise Piel’s Beer to patrons.
Unfortunately I can’t make out the markers making label on the side of the sign but I’ve heard these style signs was produced in at a sign manufacturer located in Allentown, PA. I’m still in the process of researching who the manufacturer was; if you have any idea who made this sign please contact me to share your information.
