Here is a Penn Star Brew Ball Tap from the Penn Star Brewing Company located in Lancaster, PA. This Penn Star Beer Ball Tap is from between 1933 to 1938 and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
The graphics on this ball tap knob depict the brewery’s star insignia with the name of the brew inside the star; below the star, it reads “Prop. of Penn Star Brew Co.”. The star insignia graphic was used in a lot of the brewery’s advertising and paid homage to the Reiker Brewery which eventually transitioned to Penn Star. Penn Star Beer was a popular beer produced by the brewery shortly after the end of prohibition in 1933 and produced till 1938 when the brewery closed. This knob was made by Fisher Products Inc. located in Syracuse, NY.
There is another ball tap knob from this brewery with a red porcelain face that reads “Rieker Beer”. I am actively looking for the Rieker version to add to my collection; if you have one please contact me.
