Here is a Klings Lager Beer Sign from the Phillip Kling Brewing Company located in Detroit, MI. This pre-prohibition era Klings Beer Sign if from the early 1900’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age. This sign is definitely pre-prohibition era as the Phillip Kling Brewery closed in 1919 just one year before prohibition was enacted.
This beer sign is approximately 15″ wide and is made of embossed tin wrapped over cardboard, also known as a TOC or Tin-Over-Cardboard. This sign was made by the Bastian Brothers Company located in Rochester, NY. The graphics on this sign is of the Phillip Kling brewery’s insignia logo stamped on a wooden keg with hops and wheat with the text “Chill Proof” and the text that reads “Kling’s Lager Beer” in embossed lettering.
