Here is a Hornung Beer Clock from the Jacob Hornung Brewing Company located in Philadelphia, PA. This Hornung Beer Clock is from the 1940’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age.
This Hornung Clock is approximately 12″ wide and is made of reverse-painted glass graphic panels mounted on an art-deco style base; it was made by the Price Brothers Inc. sign company located in Chicago, IL. Signs like these were made to be used as bar back displays as well as mounted on the top of a cash register to advertise Hornung Beer to patrons in taverns and distributors. The text and graphics on this clock is mainly centered around past brewing achievements that the Horung Brewery has been awarded hence the bottom blue glass panel that reads “The Beer that Wins Awards”.
