Here is a Horlachers Beer Corner Sign from the Horlacher Brewing Company located in Allentown, PA. This Horlachers Beer Corner Sign is from between 1902 and 1921 and is in very good condition considering how old it is.
The sign measures 18″ wide and is made of convex curved porcelain enamel over steel with an original mounting bracket attached to the back. The sign was made by the Brilliant Manufacturing Company located in Philadelphia, PA and bares the “Brilliant Mfg Co” makers mark on the bottom at 6 o’clock.
Signs like this porcelain sign would have been hung outside of taverns and hotels on post or entrance way to advertising Horlacher products to passing patrons; click here to view an old photograph of a similar sign from the Cold Spring Brewery.
This sign does have some damage along the rim when it was found in a trash dump. I am actively looking for a cleaner example to add to my collection; please contact me if you have one of these signs and are interested in selling.
