Here is a Edison Mazda Lamps Sign from the General Electric Company founded in Schenectady, NY. This Edison Mazda Lamps Sign is from the early 1900’s and is in very good condition considering how old it is.
This double-sided sign is approximately 19″ by 23″ and is made of thick gauge metal with lithographed graphics. The colors on the sign are very eye-catching with the use of a bright yellow background and darker graphics in the foreground. The graphics depict two females staring at each while leaning on a GE alter with the text reading “Edison Mazda Lamps”. The phrase “Mazda” was a trademarked name registered by General Electric (GE) in 1909 for incandescent light bulbs. Signs like this one would have hung outside of electric companies to advertise GE Products and Edison Light Bulbs to patrons.
