Here is a Bergner Engel Beer Glass Sign from the Bergner & Engel Brewing Company located in Philadelphia, PA. This pre-prohibition era beer sign is from the early 1900’s and is in excellent condition considering how old it is.
The sign was made by the the F. Tuchfarber Company located in Cincinnati, OH. It is approximately 18″ wide and is made or reverse-painted glass mounted in an ornate wooden frame. The graphics on this highly detailed sign depict a bottle of Bergner and Engel Export Beer with a tasting glass in the foreground with a plated lobster and bread in the background. Signs like these would have been displayed on the walls of a saloon with a dining room to promote their beer with your dinner.
