The S. S. Zentner & Company was established by Sidney S. Zentner in the early 1920’s era located in Beaver, PA and had a remote office in Pittsburgh, PA.
S. S. Zentner & Company produced reverse-painted glass advertising signs for various companies and industries across the country. They also produced calendars, novelties, and specialty advertising products as well. Their Pittsburgh office was located in the Jenkins Arcade building. Their company logo resembles an English Knight on horseback waving a flag that reads “Leaders In Our Time”. They also used the tagline “If it’s made for advertising, we have it” in a lot of their promotional items as well as on the back of their signs just below their logo.
They did have a few competitors that produced similar advertising items from companies like Beeco Inc. located in Chicago, IL and Hal Manufacturing Company located in Cincinnati, OH.
They produced outdoor lighted advertising signs for various companies and industries across the country, alone those industries were the brewing industry. They produced signs for breweries like Duquesne, Yuengling, Barbey’s Inc., Sunshine, Kaiers, Old Dutch, and Krantz just to name a few.
