Passaic, NJ
The Passaic Metal Ware Company was established by a tin knocker named Max Gurtman in 1911 located in Passaic, NJ. The Stelar Sign Company Passaic Metal Ware produced and manufactured serving trays, tin over cardboard sign, and self-framed tin signs for various companies and industries across the country.
One of there largest clients were the Coca-Cola Company; they produced a wide variety of early serving trays and advertising signs. Most of the Coca Cola advertising had depictions of women enjoying their Coca Cola products. Besides Coca-Cola, Passaic Metal Ware also produced items for Hires Root Beer, Pabst Brewing Company, Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company, Foltz Maid Coffee, and Scandinavian-American Line Ships just to name a few.
They are still in business to this day as a construction supply house called Pampco Passaic Metal & Building Supply Company located in Clifton, NJ.
