The Neon-Globe Company Inc was established in late 1929 located in Norfolk, VA. The Neon-Globe Co Inc produced outdoor lighted signs with neon tubes and curved reverse-painted glass lenses.
Neon-Globe Company Inc signs were approximately 18″ wide, double-sided, fired-on enamel reverse-painted glass, and mounted on a round metal trip with a circular neon tube that would illuminate the sign. They also produced their glass sign to be mounted in back-lit metal gas globes too. These types of signs would have been displayed outside of taverns, general stores, service stations, and distributors. They also had competing companies that produced similar advertising signs including Gillco Glass Sign Company also known as the Gill Glass Company located in Philadelphia, PA, and Gillco’s sister company Central Lighting Fixture Company located in Philadelphia, PA.
They produced outdoor lighted advertising signs for various companies and industries across the country, including those industries was the brewing industry. They produced signs for breweries like Deppen, Barbey’s, Fort Pitt, Dubois, Betz, Duquesne, Koehler, Erie, Ziegler, Century, Fauerbach, and Frank Jones just to name a few.
