The Magnalite Corp. sign company was established in 1935 located in Los Angeles, CA. The Magna-lite Corporation was only open for a few short years and in that time they created some amazing signs that were way ahead of their time. The kinds of signs that Magnalite produced were fiberoptic patterned signs. Signs like these would have been displayed as bar back display signs and were very eye-catching when lit.
A few breweries across the country took a liking to their signs and contracted Magna-lite to create advertising sign for them. Among these breweries were Fuhrmann & Schmidt, Esslinger, F&S, and Pabst just to name a few.
Eventually Magnalite closed in 1938; probably due to the fact that the world wasn’t ready for their kind of signage and designs. I feel that they were ahead of their time and were really pioneers to what advertising signs would eventually become.
