The John F Shupert Sign Company was established by John F Shupert in the late 1800’s era located in Pittsburgh, PA. The John Shupert Company produced and manufactured advertising signs including flat and curved brass signs, glass signs, and gold feaf window lettering. The sign style they were most known for were high grade outdoor brass signs which were often etched and debossed with lettering and graphic.
Various companies and industries contracted Shupert to produce signs for them. Among those industries was the brewing industry with breweries including Pittsburg, Schlather, Sprenger, Rettig, Yuengling, and Pittsburgh just to name a few.
They operated up until the early 1900’s and eventually closed around 1910. The building is still standing to this day, click here to view it.
