The Frank-Len Company was established in the 1930s located in Chicago, IL. Frank-Len Company produced reverse-painted glass advertising signs and heavy cardboard signs. Most were hangable displays although they also produced them to display on countertops too using cardboard fold-out easel backs. Their signs were especially popular during the mid-1940s as they didn’t require the use of metal which was being used for the war efforts of World War II.

The only other competitor that produced these style signs was a company called Hal Manufacturing Company located in Cincinnati, OH.  The sign styles that the two companies produced are almost identical in look and the way they were manufactured; it’s unknown which company came first with their signs.

Frank-Len Company produced advertising signs for a variety of different companies and breweries across the country including Yuengling, Kaier, Sunshine, Hudepohl, Burger, Wiedemann, Marathon City, Kingsbury, and Missoula just to name a few.

They eventually closed sometime in the 1950s; the original manufacturing buildings are no longer standing.
