Here is a Wacker Beer Boxing Baby Calendar for the Wacker Brewing Company located in Lancaster, PA. This Wacker Beer Boxing Baby Calendar Lithograph is from 1940 and is in very good condition for it’s age.
This Wacker Calendar was manufactured by the Gerlach Barklow Company located in Joliet, IL. The original illustration was created by Adelaide Hiebel who’s signature in the the left of the baby’s feet. Adelaide Hiebel was an illustrator working at Gerlach Barklow Company from the 1930’s to early 1940’s era. The lithograph painting is actually based off a 1930’s photograph by H. Armstrong Roberts, click here to view the original boxing toddler photograph.
The name of this art piece is called “I Ain’t Bluffin’, which is also used in the advertising which reads “I Ain’t Bluffin'”, “Wacker Beer”, and “All Malt Beer in a Quality Beer”. This same scene of the baby in the boxing gloves was used by the Wacker Brewery in the 1940’s on a hand fan with Wacker Beer advertising on the back. The current Wacker Brewery has since been revamped and the brand has been brought back; they now use this same boxing baby scene on their craft beer packaging cans.
